Reflection for May 25, 2011

Throughout this whole exhibition I learned that it is not always about helping a cause. It is about who you are and what you are passionate about. I learned that I am passionate about helping others. This shows who I am.

I learned about that other people have talents like at the OM talent show. I noticed this when I was judging at the auditions for the OM talent show. I believe that everyone has talent. I also learned that other people in our classroom share common interests with me like helping other people.

I learned that the Mark Twain community is very supportive by attending our events. A lot of people helped some causes like: the OM talent show, Ronald McDonald House, and H.E.L.P.

My favorite issue was bullying. I enjoyed researching and finding candidates for H.E.L.P. I think bullying is a main problem for schools mentally and physically.

My favorite action was the OM talent show. I enjoyed judging and watching people perform for the talent show. I noticed that everybody was talented!

Reflection for May 20, 2011

This has been an incredible experience! But, we are down to these final days before Exhibition and we are going crazy. I am excited, but anxious about how we get everything done! I think we will get all of the topics done. Exhibition has been a wonderful experience! I have had a great time helping with the PPCD kids, OM talent show, Ronald McDonald House, the Challenger game, being fit, and ADD/ADHD/Dyslexia. I have had a wonderful experience at Mark Twain elementary and I will always miss this school when I go to Lanier Middle School.

Reflection for May 17, 2011

I think we worked really great on the OM talent show auditions. The talent show was very popular and it was a big sucess. After the auditions, we tallied up the scores and we decided the top 15 people that are going to go to the real talent show. I feel that everybody had talent, but only some made it.

We also told the 4th graders that they can write essays to apply to H.E.L.P. I think bullying is a major problem at school. We are leaving a legacy for the 4th graders so that they can be in H.E.L.P next year. I am very excited about what is going to happen next year.

What We Have Decided (So far)

What We Have Decided (So far)

These last few days we have decided what we are going to do for some topics.

OM- What we have decided to do is that we are going to hold a talent show with voluntary donations going to the OM fund to help them get to the world finals. The auditions are going to be held May 16th, 2011 and people can sign up outside of Mrs. Bardin’s room by Friday before 8:00 A.M. Students in Mrs. Hick’s class will judge the auditions unless you are auditioning.

ADD/ADHD/Dyslexia- All we decided to do on this topic is that we will do a play.

H.E.L.P- Our class decided to do is that we will make a bully patrol a.k.a H.E.L.P. We discussed the qualities of the bully patrol. We discussed what bullies are then we split up in groups to research bullying. We then presented our note facts to each other while we took notes. Then we knocked out the H.E.L.P topic out of the way.

Challenger League Game- What we discussed about this topic is that this Sunday, our class will go to West University fields to cheer on the Challenger teams.

Ronald McDonald House- What we decided on this topic is that we are going to the Ronald McDonald House to collect food for people that have cancer at the M D Anderson Center.

Being Fit- What we have decided about this topic is that we will take pictures of people at recess and put it on photobucket or smilebox.

Exhibition Reflection about the Issues on May 6, 2011

I am passionate about time management/sleep. I believe that you should get at least 10 hours of sleep before school. Also I think that managing your time like getting your homework done is a good habit. I am passionate about giving people the tips and guides about how to give good habits about time management/sleep. I want everybody to get their assignments done and get a good night sleep instead of procrastinating late at night. I think that if we share these tips and guides, we can make a better community with people having good habits.

Reflection for Exhibition on May 5, 2011

What we did today on May 5, 2011 is that we jotted down the main issues we are going to work on. We brainstormed ideas for what we are going to do for OM raising $10,000. We decided to do a talent show to try to raise $10,000. We acomplished coming up with an idea.

We also brainstormed ideas for bullying like the bully patrol. We came with some ideas for bully patrol involving what is the bully patrol's name and what are the qualities for a member of a bully patrol? After we discussed these 2 issues, we e-mailed what our ideas were and could we do them to Mr. Baker for approval.

Issues That are Important to Me on May 3, 2011

  • Bullying/Why-  Shows disrespect and hurts people physically and socially.
  • Animal Cruelty/Why- Abuses and hurts animals which is illegal.
  • Not Doing Homework/Why-Does not benifit you with practice and not doing homework will most likely result in a failing grade in a test.
